West Chester University is replacing all of their aging dormitories with modern, spacious student housing facilities designed to meet the demands of students today and in the future. The effort, called the Housing Renewal Initiative (HRI), includes razing the existing dormitories and replacing them with six new buildings over a six year period.
Following the successful completion of an earlier housing project for the University, Remington Group, now Avison Young, was retained to create the program development plan for the Housing Renewal Initiative.
One of the biggest challenges during program development was to cost effectively maintain the University’s 3000+ bed capacity throughout the life of the project.
- Development the Building Program
- Development of Master Project Budget
- Development of Master Project Phasing Plan
Our oversight and building plan overcame this challenge to cost effectively maintain the University’s 3000+ bed capacity throughout the life of the project. Phase one of the three-phase project has been completed, with phase two in progress.
“Their oversight of the details has allowed me to focus on planning the next project.”
Mr. Richard Przywara, Former Executive Director, West Chester University Foundation
